Mission
- Providing support for Grandparents/Relatives Tutors and their Minors.
- Establish healthy relationships with the community, Intergenerational Services from the County, The System of Care, County Representatives, Housing Commission, and ANY Non Profit or Organization that may benefit the Children and Adults of this group.
- Be able to express our needs and find the resources.
- We are also focused on finding happy normal family activities, for the grand families to experience and enjoy.
- We meet once a month and have presentations from the different service providers that meet the Grand Family's needs.
- Children are offered Arts And Crafts, Computer Time, and supervised homework while the adults meet.
We offered thanks to a grant from the District's Attorney's Office, STEP Evidence-Based Parenting Classes to Grandparents and relatives raising minors that reside in South and South East Zip Codes of County.
The classes were once a week for 2 hours and lasted for 5 weeks at the end of which they received a certificate of attendance and a $75 gift card from Old Navy.
Each grandparent/Relative received a book according to the age of the children they are raising.
We provided classes in English and Spanish in groups of 10 to 15 persons. This was just before Covid at the Mountain View Beckwourth Library Branch, thanks to the unconditional support of Anne D'fazzio - Branch Manager. She supported us from 2016 to Pre Covid for all our meetings.
NEW CLASS:
Starting 2022 on January 19th we began ESL (English as a second language) with grandparents. The class takes place once a week by Zoom
for 1.5 hours for 2 semesters and will finish on November 30th. The classes are taught by ESL Expert Teacher Linda P. Kozin.

we intend to continue the tradition.
2021Holidays
In 2020 we were able to adopt 24 Grand-Families, and 40 children received nice and warm Pj's thanks to donations from our donor-friends.
